- At the end of the runner bean season all the beans will have been picked
- Some beans will have dried on the pod and you will be able to hear them by shaking the bean
- The other bigger looking beans will need to be removed and left to dry
- To remove both the dry and big beans, open up the pod and remove the seeds
- Leave on a dry surface for two weeks in a normal house temperatures which is dry and has good ventilation
- After two weeks they should have dried thoroughly, throw away any small or damaged looking beans
- Once these have dried you can either:
- Place the beans into an envelope, seal, label and store in a glass jar ready for next season
- Save the beans for cooking (these dried beans will need soaking first though)
